ENEMY'S PERSISTENT ATTACKS
MOUNTAIN TROOPS ENGAGED
(Renter's Telegram.) - (Received April 27, 8.55 a.m.) LONDON, * April 26. Reuter's correspondent at British headquarters, writing yesterday evening, says : This last two nights the enemy attacked the French around Dranoutre m strength. 'Six battalions gained temporary advantages, and were driven back by counter-attacks. This morning a much heavier assault was delivered by four to. six divisions over & front of seven miles, on the line Meteren - Bailleul - Wytechaete. Alpini corps, "the Eleventh Bavarians, and the 117 th Division, consisting of mountain trdops, were engaged, with Jager cegiments supporting, and an -entirely fresh division^ the S6th, has been identified.
