The Governpi'-General has received the* following, ■'. telegram from General Birdwood: "On this third anniversary of Anzac Day, I desire to convey the greetings of members, of the Australian Imperial Force to the people of NewZealand, and to assure them that the •New Zealand and) Austrian troops are continuing to uphold the great traditions established on April 25, 1915. The many months during, which -. the New Zealand and , Australian troops fought literally shoulder to 'shoulder m common cause can never be forgotten by either. Anznc Day was celebrated by religions services and military demonstrations. FEILDING, last night.
Ansiac Day was. celebrated by a ohureh parade at ■ the ' Anglican Church this morning, at whicji a large number of returned officers and men were present, and a, united service m the hall m > the afternoon*. All the Pi'otestant ministers took party • anjl there was a very large gathering.
INVEHCARGILL, last night. , Anzac Day was qelebrated m fine weather. A close holiday was observed. Services were held m all the churches m the morning and were well attended. •A military parade and speeches were •held m tlie open m the afternoon, and a large patriotic meeting was held *m the theatre at night. The public entered sympathetically into the purpose of the day, the cbservance of which was hi every way satisfactory.
