BULBS ARE VALUABLE.

' AMSTERDAM. Sept. 4. It now/transpires, according to the Handelsbjad, that the prohibition of the export of flower bulbs was issued with a view ot controlling their export for abnormal use. By the removal of a harmful ingredient it was found possible to prepare a very nowishing mUk-pro-ducing cattle food from the various sorts of bulbs and last yean 800,000 kilograms of tulip bulbs went abroad as cattle food, presumably to Germany. It now has apparently been de&ded to retain any such surplus for Dutch cattle owing to the lack of fodder as a consequence of the stoppage of American supplies. According to gardening journals, export consents will be issued where normal jwe of the bulbs is intended and I prohibition of export will not apply to consignments to America, Sweden, Denmark and Switzerland.
