HOTELS ACQUIRED FOR SOLDIERS' USE.
LONDON, Oct. 2. More than half the hotel accommodation of England's favorite health resortsat'Buxton amid the Derbyshire hills, is now passing into the . possession of the Canadian overseas forces. Under the command of Col. 'Hanson, of Montreal, five hotels have been acquired by the War Office for the period of the war for the Canadians' use, j namely, Buxton Hydro, Palace Hotel, Devonshire Hotel, Grosvenor Private Hotel, '. and Pavilion Boarding-house. These are to be used as convalescent homes distinct from hospitals .. for wounded officers and men who hitherto have been mainly dependent upon far less desirable accommodation at Ramsgate and other southeast coast resorts. Buxtons largest hotel, the Eimpire, will continue as a depot for. the discharged Canadian soldiers. Another large establishment. Peak Hydro, .is now used as a special Red Cross hospital for Canadians. . ;
