KITCHENER SCHOLARSHIPS. !. (From Our .Parliamentary Kojmrtor.) WELLINGTON, this day. The scholarships will be of an annual value of £50, and will be tenable for two years or more at one of the Government , experimental farms, or at Lincoln or other approved agricultural college. COMFORTABLE PRISONERS.

In reply to M,r Veitch's question whether German prisoners travelling on the Auckland train a fortnight ago were given sleepers and first-class comforts, the Defence Minister stated that a small sleeping carriage was- used to facilitate the guarding of prisoners'. He explained more fully that by international arrangements prisoners' who are officers are entitled to first-class travelling. REPLIES TO QUESTIONS.

Mr Statham presented the report of the Cost of Living Committee. He said the report was simply a former report with the paragraph referring to the purchase of local products deleted. The Committee was uriable to agree upon any other recommendation. The report vms adopted without discussion.
