Local investments in the War Loan, through the medium of the post office,, totalled £28,449 16s. This amount represents the total. amount subscribed in the various post offices throughout tjhe Gisborne district until the evening of Friday, August 31, and the business transacted up till .Saturday evening last at <bhe Gisbonje' post office. The above amount has been subscribed aa follows : Loan, and inscribed stock £5450, ,.. Post office war bonds, £10;400. v War loan certificates sold £12,599 16s.
