1 (Per Press Association.) AVELLINIGTON, last night. It is notified m to-night's Gazette that the Minister for Customs has granted general 'permission for the. exportation of hemp to the "United States. No application or permit will m future be rei quired, ibut a declaration as to the ultimate destination mußt bo produced to Lthe Collector of, Customs before shipment. It should be understood that the general permit may at any time be withdrawn. The introduction into New Zealand of pear, apple, quince, or stone fruit 'trees, or cuttings, buds or any other portion of such trees (except the fruit) from Australia is' prohibited, v because of the danger of introducing the disease of hairy root, crown gall, or root knot.
