MATAWHERO STOCK SALE.

The Poverty Bay Stockbrokers' Association held their -weekly "sale at the Matawhero saleyards yesterday. The wet weather militated against a large attendance, and tliere was evidence that hatMhe. weather been more favorable the tone of the market would have shown a marked improvement ort the last few sales. About nnoo sheep and 50 head of store cattle were yarded. The yarding pf sheep comprised principally tWortoOtlt ' -wethers and hoggets. Branson's Waimata properly made 225, ahd. a line pf 156 shofn hoggets from the same property made 20s hd. Cull nuggets made up to 16s-. Wethers sold, at from* 27s to 335. Ewes m lamb and empty ewes were.* m poor demand, and most of the. lines offered were passed m. Empty ewes sold at from 12s to 17s, ahd ewes'- -in lamb up to 225.
