MEDICAL EXAMINATION.
VISIT OF No. 3 BOARD
The members of No. 3 Medical Board arrived from Napier by the s.s. Mako this morning, and are engaged examining the men called up in the last ballot, and other recruits. The Board comprises Colonels GuShrie and Fulton, with Captain Sir C. Burdett (dentist), Lieutenant Ansell (attesting officer), Sergeant-Major Sell, and Private Bennett. The examination commenced at 10 a.m., and was cspeditiously conducted throughout the day. Weather and roads 'permitting, the Board will leave Qisborne on Thursday afternoon for Wadroa, and thence on to Napier. If ibis trip cannot be undertaken the offioea» will remain in 'Gdsborne nntil Sunday next. -The men being passed fit for active service will go into camp with the draft that leaves Gisborne on May 29.
During the morning 35 men were put through. Of these' 12 were passed for active service, 22 for home service, and on© was rejected as medically unfit.
