RUssell) and tho Minister of Defence (the Hon v Sir James Allen) regarding the. supply fioi doctors for military and civil duty. Speaking of the meetings, Sir James .. Allen sai4 .that it was the desire of thfe'" British "Medical Association to help tbe Government m every possible way "tfrtß" flic. organisation of the medical- services: ■•• .As to what would be done he' was not then m a position to say. ?Tfajy Defence Department . was primarily -concerned with ' the keeping up of the, supply of doctors for the reinforcements, and the Public Health Department had . to see that doctors should be on hand to look after the health of the civil population. The matter was one for arrangement with the B.M.A. by the Defence Department and the Public Health Department.
