Among the New" Zealanders who were recently reported (on "--he,, finding. of the Court of Enquiry) to- have been killed m action was Trooper Alex. Stevens, second son of Mr and 1 Mrs Stevens, Fox street", have received official information of the sad news. Trooper Stevens, who was previously reported as missing, was well ■'known, m .Gfebarne, being one of three brothers who responded .to the Empire's call from Gisborne. He was employed^ at the.. Gisborne Freezing , Works when he. -enlisted, with th^-.l3th' Reinforcements. Trooper* Stevens served two A-ears in -. "the..E.-C.-M.'R.
