He would like the meeting to pass a" resolution autlioris'Jig him as their reprGsantiitlve on the local Patriotic Committee to 1 projwse a motion to donate a portion of their funds to the object he had at heart, which would be a lasting memorial to, those who had given their lives m 'the country's hour of need. The proposed, scheme wa a discussed and cordially endorsed 'by all present, especially that the ; college should be a free gift, from the" people ■' and should be handed over to be placed under Government control when completed. . ' The Chairman proposed: "That the Te, Karaka ' branch of the Farmers' Unibn cordially -endorses Mr. Hum- : phreys's scheme, and considers that an adequate portion of the funds now m: the hands of the Patriotic Committee ; 1 should be voted towards it." > I The motion was seconded by :Mr Tul-' •! lock,, and carried with- acclamation.
