At a large and influential meeting under the auspices of the Imperial Mission, held m the Caaion Street hotel it was resolved to urge the Government to give immediate relief m the matter of the double income tax. Sir Joseph Ward referred! to the possibility after the Avar of foreigners paying only one tax, competing with British paying t\yo and possibly three, who ought not ..thus to' be handicapped. The British citizen m any part of the Empire should be a unit and not made two persons for the purposes of taxation. . !
