(Reuter's Telegram-i LONDON, April 26. The House of Lords debated* food limitation. •.[■...'■- Lord Devonport impressed the necessity for a reduction" in tire consumption of bread to 41bs per head weekly. He said "the meat consumption had been considerably reduced. The sugar allowance must be reduced to half a pound weekly. It >vould depend on --the people's consumption of bread and .other foodstuffs within two months whether compulsory rationing was necessary. 'He /warned, that iiv. the meantime the machinery therefor was ' organising; He declared that if a diminution were not accomplished, we would not get through to^ next harvest, except with severe privation.
