LONDON, April 26. In the House of Commons Lord Robert Cecil . denied that America had entered into a normal alliance with Britain.

Mr Bonar. Law- announced that the Imperial War Cabinet yesterday discussed Lord Burleigh's Committee's resolution on Imperial preference. He would make a statement m the House of Commons on Friday

He further said the Government could not adopt the suggestion to threaten to take reprisals on Cologne Cathedral if Laon Cathedral suffered at German hands.

Steel Maitland said the Government was aware that Australia wag preparing to assist m settling ex-soldters on the land, but did not know whether the schemo was available for ex-sailors or soldiers emigrating from Britain. Mr. Bonar Law announced that the Budget would be delivered on May 2nd. A credit vote would be asked for.' Thef e would also be a secret session* the following week. He added that the Government welcomed the Russian Government's recognition of the independence of Poland. Britain would assist Poland to realise its national aspirations. Mr. MacPherson stated the embargo on the newspaper Nation would be raised if . the editor submitted nil war articles to the censor.

Lord Cecil stated that Germany* through a neutral sovereign, had verbally applied to obtain Prince Karl's body for burial m Germany. Britaui had replied tliat it was impossible wt present. , • ' ■ . ,
