MEDICAL EXAMINATIONS.
No. 1 Military Medical Board, comprising Colonols Lindsay and Jennings, with Captain Ciuwerly, attesting officer, Captain Atkinson, dentist, and Sergeant-' Major Bradtield, arrived from South this morning. Owing to "the shipping arrangements, the members of the Board had to come a day earlier .than was expected, the examiuations being timed to commence, at 9 p.m. to-morrow. About 100 men have been summoned to appear before the Board, and it is hoped that as many as possible of the men drawn m the fifth ballot will be dealt with.
It has often happened m Gisborno that some men want to get away inimodiik'lv. and it is pointed out that if these mcii attended the present Medical Board without waiting to receive the ofHcial notice, they would be alile to get away at the end of this month. Those of the men drawn m the last ballot who- can |>ossibly do k» should endeavor to get the matter of the medical examination out of hand at once, so that they can ascertain where they stand.
