GISBORNE WEST SCHOOL PICNIC.
m Thi. picnic was held at tho Park grounds last Thursday, when the ideal weather conditions brought out- a record number of children, .and pa.VQUts, there being over 400. present. The catering for such a large mimbei* as usual was no trouble to the Te Hapara ladies, who., under the able management of Misa Took, had abuiula.iK.ft, for all. The sports programme under the control of the headmaster • and staff exceeded all previous ones, for ffom.ll a.m. to 5 p.m. the sporty., were kept going, and the liberal prizes brought m sometimes a field of £0, -which gave little trouble to Mr Parsons, who handicapped to the satisfaction of the scholars. After the tea at 5 p.m. Mr Pasley, on behalf of the committee, thanked all those ladies, and gentlemen who had so ably assisted m making the Gisborne West school picnic such a success.
