CRICKET.

Two further matches m the Thursday cricket competition were commenced yesterday afternoon, the details of the play being: High School were the first to go to the wickets and were all dismissed for 67. run. Harwood played steadily for 30, when ho was clean . bowled by Hogan. Kia Kaha have lost 7 wickets for 107 runs, of whicli T. Scholium notched 39 and E. W. Harvey 30. Hogan and Scholium were the most successful trundlers for Kia Kaha, .taking 6 for 32 and 3 for 24 respectively, while Harwood took, 4 for 38" for High School. HIGH SCHOOL B_ (Ist Innings.) United went to the wickets first, and a good stand, for 177 runs was made. A. Sandall, who has been playing very consistently of late, made 103, Murray was most succesful with the ball for High School, securing 5 for 60.
