MOTOR ASSOCIATION.
A further meeting of motorists was called for this afternoon m connection with the movement to form an Automobile, Association. There was only a small attendance, several of those Interested m tho movement being out of the district at present. Amongst ithose present were : — Major A. G. Beere (m the cl:air), Messrs. H. Kenvvay, F. R.'Ball, S. S. Dean, W. Peryer, J. H. Ormond, h. G. Tucker. Nicholls, E.- Oaks, Price, and Parker . ? The Chairman explained what step 3 had been taken.. The preliminary committee had drafted what they, thought would b e suitable rules. If the rules were adopted members would #ien be registered and tho election of officers proceeded with. ... ' ■Mr. Dean, secretary ]iVo tern, then lead the suggested rules, which were considered seriatim. At the instance of Mr. Kenway, supported By Mr. Tucker, it wag decided to <ulop> the title ' of "The. Poverty Bay Motor Association," it being consi dei'ed .that ther^ was too much A*mericanism abojj.it the- -term -"automobile." The rules, with several minor alterations, were adopted. In view of the title of the association the letters of the monogram were made "P.B.M.A, 1 whilst crimson and r gold were selected as thi association's' colors, some taking exception to black. • . It was proposed that the scope of the association should extend from Wairoa to Opatiki.
