There . is > much concern for ships now at sea. owing to the fact that it is estimated that two thousand Americans are m or approaching the danger zone. The masters of several ships have decided not to leave New York or other ports, pending a Government announcement. ' The Note resulted m a great bear raid on Wall Street. The market opened panicky. Steel and shipping shares showed a big decline. Wheat and cotton were also hit.
