ARMOUR FOR. INFANTRY.
(United Service.) LONDON, January. 12. The War Office has successfully experimented with shield armour for infantry attacks. . . ' "I have got my way," Dr 0. W. Saleeby says, "about heart armor for our soldiers. We are going to have something. The military authorities have consented,' as it were, to try whether something cannot be devised, and we havei now been officially informed they are going to do it. Perfectly wonderful things m the way of shields have been done already wi^h very simple means. Every soldier ought to have a body shield provided by you and me. Already our head cases are disappearing from the hospitals. That is the helmet. I hope wa may be able to say the same m regard to shrapnel wounds to tlu> chest and upper part of the abdomen." |
