THIRD SAILOR HUSBAND LOST. A remarkable story is told regarding *trs Goddard, wife of Stoker 1 Waltey Goddard, who was on board the Sparrowhawk, and of whom no news has been received since the naval battle m the -North Sea. . ■ , In the event of Stoker Goddard's death Mrs Goddard, who is not yet 25, will have lost her third sailor husband. Her first husband, whom she married only six years ago, ' was killed accidentally m a torpedo-boat. Her second ,hiu?lwuid took part m two naval fights before he met death — .while home on leave — being doAvn by a motor car at Chatham. Although Mrs Goddard has been married for six years, she has seldom' enjoyed the company of any of her husbands for any .length of time — all being sailors and serving m various parts of the world. Wiilh Stoker .Goddard, her last husband, she spent but 13 days out of a. married. life of 17 '-months. As she smiled bravely, she said : "Somehow I feel he is -not lost. Surely God is not going to take my third- husband from me."
