DOUBLE MARKS FOR OUTDOOR WORK. (From Our Parliamentary Reporter.) WELLINGTON, tbi* frg. Following up his declaration as to the necessity of giving more attention to practical subjects m education the Minister of Education has revised the senior national scholarship regulations so as to grant double marks for practioal work, out of door. work, field or garden marks, being increased 100 to 200. Scholarships are divided^ into sections, (a), intended for pupils taking the ordinary secondary course schemes; (b), those taking 'the rural or domestic course, including the subjects bf agricultural and daily science and home science. Last year only 48 candidates offered m scheme a, but the concession to practical work as a compensation for the extra* time involved is^expected to. greatly increase the popularity of the practical course. mmmmmmmmi m iv
