A Russian communique , states : The Germans attempted to advance northeast of Smorgon. -Our batteries compelled them to retire. We repulsed all further attacks. We repulsed a night attack on the Stokhod m the district bf Zarej-rierez-nica. ; Rain and snow are falling m the Carpathians. We' have considerably advanced on the shore of th© Black Sea. We took prisoner a great number. We captured the town of Kialketchev. lik, near the river Eshimtramka: Our troops m the direction of Erzmghan crossed a river westward of the Euphrates. We are engaging large Turkish forces at Mosul, eastward, of Revadiza district.
