COLONIAL BATTALIONS OVERRUN THREE LINES OF TRENCHES. PARIS, July 22. The positions captured on the- Ver-mand-Villers line were of gneat strength. The French Colonial battalions attacked some points so impetuously that they, overran three lines of trenches without ' groat loss. Elsewhere they were less fortunate. Soyecourt Labyrinth and Star, Wood were carried by assault. The village was surrounded on three sides. Two whole enemy companies defending the redoubt near VermandVillers farm were captured, also a company belonging to a regiment brought from Verdun. Among prisoners there was an extraordinary jumble of Wurtembergers. Saxons, Badeners, Bavarians, and Pnissians, mostly between the ages of seventeen and twenty.
