BRITISH LINE PUSHED UP.
ENEMY COUNTER-ATTACK OBTAINS FOOTING IN A WOOD. (Australian and N.Z. Gable Association.), (Received July 22, 11.45 a.m.) LONDON, July 21. General 'Sir Douglas Haig reports that the British advance to the north of the Bazentin-Longueval line has been pushed on to Bois-des-Foureaux, whence we drove the enemy during the night. The enemy counter-attacked after an intense bombardment with gas shells and succeeded in effecting an entry to the north of the wood, but failed to dislodge our troops from the northern half. Elsewhere the position is unchanged.
