THE TIVOLI FOLLIES.

"'To-night will witness the first appearance m Gisborne of the popular Tivoll 'Follies, which Mr. Hugh D. Mcintosh will present for a season of two nights with a special matinee to-morrow afternoon* In Auckland the theatre was crowded to the doors every evening last week while the Follies were there, and it : is a much bigger combination than , previously. No lesa than 60 performers ' ' will be associated vwith the new Queen, - Miss Vera Pearpe, the Australian Boomerang Girl. Her. singing and; dancing is ■ ori a high plane, and her numbers tonight; will include "Racketty Cbo," "The KepVFit Girl,"; "Honolulu, and PoiPoi Dance,", and "Whole Toyrn Wise." Thelma Raye is a hew Comedienne "appearing here for the first time to-night. Jack Cannot; comes with a big ( batch of songs arid jokes, and his '.'Spanish Joe *' from Mexico," with topical verses on the present Mexican trouble, is a scream. The three new comedians Walter Weems, George W T elch, and Billie Rego, will be seen m several specialty acts, Frdnk . who sings sentimental ditties, in, addition to introducing "Molly Dpai'" will be heard m Cammearl's stirring poeni- "The Carillion," -this being a .' tale of Belgium's . suffering, set to music by Sir Edward Elgar. Tin's artist in -this number will have thd-assist- ■ yance of the famous Belgian Band, an: appropriate ally* seeing that, all the members saw active service m defence of .their country, until rendered m-pdieal-f ly yferifit, Mr. Greene weurs the uniform i of/a 'Belgian Private, this uniform belonging to one of the members of ; the Band who was at the siege of Liege. . Jean Keiths, solo dancer, will include "The, Soill of Champagne": and /other < .specialities/ Ella Casper's, "the girl with the .voice of gold," Mill -sing songs both classical and popular, while a comedy r team m Short and Little will demonstrate that there is still something new m the art of tumbling. - I /
