LOSS- OF 47 ZEPPELINS SINCE THE
WAR BEGAN
LOUDON, May 31. A private letter received states :—
"Berlin is a joyous as ever, and all the racecourses are active, while a milSi on* and , a-lialf , marks a day pass thrpugh the pari-mutuel, but everybody except the officials is utterly weary of the war. : - '
''Germans cannot understand why the Allies persist. This week we are all bettagged on account of the defeat r-S Italy, which is supposed to be finished. All the good news, however,' does not affect the desire for the end of the war. The belief is universal that we shall have a victorious peice before the winter. ' ' "It ;s reported that 47 Zeppelins hav« been lost since the beginning of the war. Twenty-two submarines nave peea turned \ out of the Schwartzopf factory in the last eight months."
