UNITED V. WANDERERS. • Contrary to expectations the conclusion of tiie match between United and W r anderers on Saturday afternoon turned out a one-sided affair. On the first day United made 86 m their first innings and Wanderers 87, and at the call of time United were seven wickets down for 89 m their second attempt. It was expected, therefore, that the finish would be a close one. Temperton (13) and Morling (8) resumed their partner ship on Saturday, and thanks to the faultless innings played by Temperton United had an easy fullpoint victory. The young Aucklander gave a splendid exhibition, and he compiled his century and six m great style. His partnership with Morling, who also played a sound innings, produced 110 runs. When United's innings was declared at 211, Temperton was still batting confidently. Wanderers made no stand at all m thensecond innings, and a rot setting m. they wero all dismissed for a small total of 28. The scores were as follows: — UNITED.— Second Innings. (First Innings 86.)
