Cogar, of Gfeborne, and, with 3m Tjrother Gharlit, leit writh the Main Expeditionary Force.. Private Oogar wa,s a member of the local Tertitorials, aud he Avas the tljird man to enlist, at Gisborne fcxr the firoiit, his brother being the second main to enrol. Gunner F. H. Tredary, , who was, reported on the 12th inst. !to have been wounded, was one of 12 howitzer battevv men who left Gtsborne on OoWoW 21. Htj was employed on a station on. th« East Coast.

Private Hugh Latimer Tnkc, of the Sixth Haiiiraki (Auckland) Infantry, a nephew of A'lrs W. D. Lysnar, died on a hospital ship from wounds l'eceived m action. The deceased, who was 29 years of. age. w&k the'secondison of the' 'Rev. Canon. Tuke, of Napier. He was, beforpleavingj for four years- in the service of Messrs Williams and Kettle, and later ■was m the service of the "Roads Department. He left for the United States, to learn farnitng 'with- '-a .-relative, where hv -stayed five years, and then ' returning to New Zealand took lip^ land in_ the Thames Valley.' He enlisted immediately upon the outbreak of war m the Sixlh Haurakis, "the 'i-egiment which has slwfered such severe losses m vihe "Daivtonejles. In his' "■earlier years the deceased was m the : Napier GuaixJs;'- holding-' the rank of corporal, and 1 " was: 'one of tine best shots? m the company. Private Tuke was offered a commission, m- art; English regimielit, on lv's officer's commendation, but refused to leave his own regiment and his "New Zealand comrades. Chaplain-Captain ,McKen/.ie, of the Salvation' Army, Australia, reported killed at the' front whilst encouraging his men, was well known m. New Zealand, where he edited the Wai* Cry for three or fouir years previous to his transfer to Austa-aha some two' years- ago. In the list of killed the name appears of Private Alfred John Pevreal, son of Mr Q. Pevreal, Desmond road, Giaborhe.
