In connection with the despatch of the hospital ship the Pharmacy Board of New Zealand has communicated with Oolonel Collins offering to equip the surgery and dispensary x>n being informed of the. requirements, and to render personal services necessary to complete the equipment process.

The boys of the Auckland Boy Scout organisation have placed their 'services at the disposal of any person for the running of messages, etc., provided the latter will make a contribution to the Hospital Ship Fund. Altogether/ some 1300; boys; ' all of them anxious to do something for the fund, will be available. : \

"If we did this," said^Mr Myera, "it would mean that every able-bodied man would be doing a duty to his country. It might not be necessary for them to be cafied upon, but should it become necessary much would have been done m preparation for such an eventuality. We most remember," he added, "that the present js a life and death struggle, and the position is too serious to be temporised with. From this time forth an effort should be made m the direction I have indicated. By doing this we should be doing our. best to make it possible to send aw»y whatever quota of man the authorities d«ure the Dominion to pro vide."
