The Dedeagatch correspondent of Le Temps says that after Italy% declaration of war the Young Turks -held a council at which Enver Pasha's attitude was severely criticised by a majority, who declared that the prolongation of the struggle meant no success, and pointed out. that Turkey could have made peace a few months ago and kept Constantinople under certain conditions, and could even now have peace and keep Smyrna. : , . ' tEnver Pasha interrupted the talk by declaring that the Allies would never offer acceptable terms after their enormous losses at t-he , Dardanelles, and so Turkey s only salvation was to throw ;n her lot with Germany, whose submarines had seriously embarrassed the Allies.
