LONDON, May 29. Belgian males in Britain aged over 18 years are to enrol before June 20. Captain F. Grenfell, the first officer awarded the Victoria Cross, has Been killed in France. It is estimated that there are eight million men of military age in the United Kingdom. ' The Times is printing a very large number of letters showing the desire throughout the country that the Government should give the nation a clear and unmistakeable call to service. A week's unsatisfactory news has increased the demand for national service. Lord Sydenham, Mr Frederic Harrison, and several headmasters of public schools and others advocate national service from various standpoints. ' Dr Gillies, the New Zealand golfer, has been appointed Chief Surgeon of a Belgian Field Hospital.
