WAIPIRO BAY.
The Belgian flag that was auctioned m aid (. f the Belgian Fund was presented to the Waiapu ..natives by the last purchaser, Mi* 15. Taylor. Since then the natives liave erected a- flisig-pole, and a large Uniosi Jack has been presented to thenr. The ceremony of hoisting the flag was performed' yestferdayl ''*^J_"yO„_ and fighting hakas weroV performed,- and speeches were delivered by Messrs Taylor, Huruma-na, Hone Potaka, and Piiipi Waipapa. A sum of over' £2o was collected m aid of the Belgian Fund.
Last evening, at a meeting of the Waipiro Athletic Club, the sum of £30 was voted towards the hospital ship. A notice .of motion to devote a further £70 Jbo a- relief fund was received.
