The Austriasis replied vigorously for a few hours, and then their fire died down. - The Italian cavalry f entered m the evening, and found "tho Austrians had evacuated the place. The populace were almost starving. Two thousand wer transferred to the Udiije, where 'they were succored. i The Italians also \occinpied the island of Grado. Gradiska is a town of Austria oss the Isonzo, 25 miles northward of Tr.este. with a population of 5003. SWEDISH BARQUE BLOWN LP. (Received 'May 29, 2.10 p.m.) STOCKHOLM, May 28. The Swedish, barque' Rosval,. bound foi Sunderland, timber laden, was stopped by si German submarine. She was allowed to proceed, and then blown vp — it is supposed- tor pedoed. Her mast fell, killing two of the crew. A Dutch steamer rescued the remainder. .
