♦ — CANADIANS TO MAI-E SHELLS FOR RUSSIA.. MONTREAL, April 19. The Gazette's London correspondent cays: — "W. W. Butler, senior vice-presi-dent'of the Canadian Car. :&vd jFoundi*y Company, has arrived back m London from Petrograd after havina succeeded m securing an order from, tlie -Russian artillery department for two and a-Jialf millions each of* shrapnel and explosive shells, worth £14,000,000. Th^e extent* of the order is such as to necessitate submitting various parts to other firms for manufacture, especially as three of the Canadian Car and Foundry plantg are already turning out shells."
