INCREASING THE RESTRICTIONS
A REIGN OF TERROR
(Received Feb. 25, 3.40 a.m.) PARIS, Feb. 24. A correspondent of the journal Des Debats says that the German yoke on Belgium is made heavier daily. The restrictions are increased. No passports are issued. Houses are ransacked and unroofed m the search for copper and zinc. The Germans are resorting to trickery to subdue the spirit of the people. A supposed Belgian recruit visited Baroness Calwaert and begged for help to rejoin his regiment. The Countess gay« him money. A few minutes afterwards she was arrested and sentenced to five years' for treasonably aiding Germany's enemies.
