THE PICTURE HOUSES.

The new circuit which the Pathe Picture management joined this week has already made a name for itself. The initial programme, won golden opinions., and it is expected the second big series, which will be screened at His Majesty's Theatre to-night, will cause quite a stir. I- he principal production will be a whirlwind of fun, 2000ft in length, entitled "The Property Alan," which is said to have set the United Slates from I\ T ew York to San Francisco "laughing ' mao"' recently.The "Property Man" to the theatrical world io what the Jack 1 Tar is to the nation, the absolutely indispensable handy man. This is headed., "Scenes in the Midst of x the War," "The Battle for Calais," and "Camp Life," and ,#ives many splendid views of the menVlio have so gallantly checked the German onslaught, and are slowly but surely driving the invaders back.. Among the scenes shown J will be a railway train wrecked ' while passing over a mined bridge at the battle of the Aisne, a Belgian armored car operating against German air-craft. Algerian troops embarking for Francej the German attack on Antwerp, Kitchener's hustling mtthods at Aldershot to get his new army ready in record time, British colonial horses in action, big guns dropping shells on the Germans fivp miles away, and the ruins of Ramscapelle. "Abide with Me" shows how th© beautiful voice of a choir girl is the means of reforming a gambler a,nd a drunkard. In "The Tell-tale Scar", will be found a- story crammed with suspense and excitement, while "Mount Dore" is a most delightful scenic film. This unique entertainment will be embellished with new music.

. A large audience greeted the screening of the new programme at the World's Pictures last iiiglit. This evening the same, programme will be repeated finally. The .star drama is an attraotiye .feature entitled "On the Hign Seas," being replete with sensation ana interest. Another stirring drama is "AlHuman," a splendid circus drama in which a large gorilla saves the life of. a lit'tle child. The trainer is prevented from further ill-treating Jacko by the ring master. The trainer insults the latterV wife, but is allowed to go free. Desiring further revenge he sets fire to the house where the ring master's little girl is living. Jacko, who is attached to the little maid, sees the smoke, breaks loose, and finally rescues her from an untimely fa>te. "Charlie's Little, Joke" is a fine comic and 'had the audience in constant • laughter. "The. Lure of the Stage,'! a fine romance of behind the scenes .greatly appealed to the vast a.udience, as also did "John~ •Bousall of the Secret Service." a splendid detective drama. "Bill Bailey dons the Gloves" was greatly appreciated for it was indeed a fine comic. A stiri'iiig topical "Kitchener's Fighting Men" aroused great enthusiasm, being 'of special interest just now. On Monday next the star attraction will be a superb production "On -the Sea Coo.st of Bohemia."
