SWEET PEA SHOW.

A SPLENDID^ DISPLAY.

The annual sweet pea /s/iow was opened this* afternoon at the Scottish Hall. Despite 7 the. 'strong winds that have prevailed recenfly there is a splendid display of blooms, in fact jfc exceeds the expectations of the most sanguine. .In the opinion of .ope- eari '<&s,' the* exhibition is" sihlply wonder! or : and many« of the blooms are fit to be iboytjix anywhere. The entries are' not quite so numerous as in previous \ears, Kut the quahty is quite up to tie usual standard, and altogether the 7 display is a most attractive one. In addition to -the flowers in the competitive classes seme' fine collecions of pot, plants and n-iscel-laneous blooms are beihg^shibifed by Messrs A. Thomson, C. p. Da vies, and D. G. Robertson, whilst Mrs H. Kenway has on exliibition-only a fine-as-sortment of cut flowers iucluiing' a jme specially good gladiolas. 5 The flrwer portion of the undertaking is again under the able supervision nf M? A. Thomson, , and he was assisted with the staging of ,the flowers 7 by Mr D; G.
