At the Supreme Court William Amos Mullins was convicted on a charge of attempting. to murder his wife by shooting her at a house m Clyde Quay on August 13th. Sentence was deferred. . NAPTER, last night. A 'fire broke out last evening m the rear of Macky-Logan's _ warehouse, orif mating m some packing cases. The ames entered the warehouse windows, and though the firo was quickly suppressed, damage estimated at £500 was done to the stock by smoke and water. The loss was fully covered by insurance m the New Zealand office (£4000) and Atlas (£1000). ? TIMARU, last niglit;. At a meeting of creditors m the bankrupt'estate of Walter Shaw, ex-solicitor, the official assignee submitted a report aiid statement of accounts which proved that the debts amounted to £51,867. Since the middle of 1913 £1908 had been received and £1729 expended, and solicitor's fees (probably £450) had not yet been paid. There was £1940 realisable, but much of it will take many years to collect, and other more doubtful amounts total £3200. A ."solicitor thought that by careful management Is m the £1 could be saved. The meeting resolved that the remaining assets be sold if possible. CHRISTCHURCH, last night. Belgium Week resulted m £734 being obtained by means of collections and two concerts by the Christchurch Orchestral Society,
