GERMANS CLAIM BIG VICTORY.
PETROGRAD, Nov. 17. The Russians are fighting tenaciously m the Soldaui-Neidenburg district. ' The Germans are determinedly seeking to paralyse Russian ' attacks along the southern frontier of East Prussia. AMSTERDAM, Nov. 17. An "official" Berlin report states that the Russian advance near Soldau has been repulsed and strong Russian forces were thrown back on Plock on Sunday. The Germans have taken 5000 prisoners and 10 machine guns. Several Russian army corps have been driven back at Kutdo, , and, according to the latest estimates, the . Russians have lost 23,000 prisoners and 70 gums and machine guns. .
