ROOSEVELT- DENOUNCES LANDOR (Press Assn.— By Telegraph— Copyright.) (Received July 9, 11.45 a.m.) NEW YORK, July 8. On being shown an English news paper despatch, after attending the Pro-gi-essive meeting, Mr Roosevelt, commenting on Mr Savage Landor's renewed attempts to discredit his discovery of a new South American river, said : "Landor is a perfectly preposterous absurdity. No serious scientist thinks of attempting to accept him as anything more than a buffoon as an explorer."
