SALVATION ARMY LOSSES.
Enquiries made from Adjutant Avenell, officer in charge of the' Gi.«borne corps, elicited the fact that the members of the New Zealand contingent, who left for the International Congress, ihav© already reached London, and those who were on board ' the Empress of Ireland were t!he Canadian delegates. The adjutant stated that the Salvation Army lias been greatly affected by the disaster, as he anticipates that there must have been close on 200 officers on their way from Canada to Eng-Inii-d.* It would be a big blow to Canada. Some years ago, Adjutant Avenell remarked, the Salvation Army lost ten officers. They were proceed- 1 ing to New York to attend a Stale Congress, when their ship was" wrecked.
