Excepting for rain at Russell, the weather was fine throughout New Zealand to-day. STATE OF THE SEA. Rough seas were reported at Russell and Cape Campbell, moderate at East Cape, Capo Palliser, Farewell Spit, Westport and Greymouth; smooth "elsewhere. WEATHER REPORT. To-day's forecast states: "Easterly moderate to strong winds, and veering by east to north. There is a prospect of fair to cloudy weather. The . barometer has a falling tendency. Tides good; sea moderate."
