Weather estimated as:— B, bide sky, be the atmosphere clear or heavy; C, clouds, passing clouds; D. drizzling rain; F, foggy; O, gloomy; H, hall; t, lightning; M. misty; O, overcast, the whole sky covered with thick clouds; P, passing showers; Q, squally; S, snow; T, thunder; C, ugly threatening appearance: Z. hazy. There were passing showers this morning at Cape Maria, Hokianga, New Plymouth, Wellington and Farewell Spit; and rain at Timaru, Oamaru and Dune- ! din. A moderate fresh was running In the Buller river. BTATE OF THE SEA. . The sea was Reported this morning to be very heavy at Kaipara, heavy at, Hokianga and New Plymouth, rough at Catfc Maria, Manukau titeads. Farewell Spit, and Greymouth; considerable at Westport, moderate at Russell, East Cape, Cape Palliser, Cape Campbell, Timaru, and Oamaru; smooth elsewhere. WEATHER FORECAST. To-day's forecast states: "Southerly moderate to strong prevailing;- expect changeable and showery, weather; glass has a rising tendency; - tides good, sea moderate."
