INCENDIARISM IN INDIA.

The cotton fires are causing a panic among insurance companies. The damages m four outbreaks total £147,000, and it is estimated that 100,000 bales have been destroyed.
No trace of incendiaries has been discovered.

CALCUTTA, April 8
An epidemic of fires to which no clue has been found is occurring m a large portion of tbe new market. Two valuable sheds crammed -with goods and other buildings have 'been destroyed.
To-day's cotton firo at Bombay is the sixteenth since the 23rd. The loss is £8000.
