QUESTION OF CHEAPER RATES

At the meeting of the Pacific Cable Board Mr Matthew Nathan moved to rescind the concession m New Zealand cable rates. Mr Mackenzie moved an amendment that the Avhole question of Australasian irate© bo referred to a committee,- m order, if possible,' to make further reductions. Mr Mackenzie pointed out that where reductions were made they had been compensated for by an increase of revenue. He mentioned the increasing reserves of the Board, and stated that contributions, by the Imperial and ' Dominions! Parliaments amounted to £55,000 m a decade. The amendment was carried.
