NEW TAXATION.
OUTCOME OF LABOR CAUCUS. (Press Assn.—By Telegraph— Copyright.) SYDNEY, March 4. The result of to-day's meeting of the Labor caucus has not been communicated to the press. The Telegraph understands that it ia almost certain that the caucus will agree to the income tax exemption being reduced from £300 to £250, which will apply to this year's incomes. The paper says there will be no alteration m the. exemption of £50 for each child,, but says the tax on incomes from rural lands will be raised from the 6d to an 8^ basis. The taxation existing m New Zealand m respect to cheques and receipts will also be imposed.
