Munro-Fer-guson succeeds Lord Denmau. (Received Feb. 7. 0.5 a.m.) His Majesty the King has approved of the, appointment of the Right Hon. Ronald Crauford Munro-Ferguson. P. 0., M.P. for Leith, as' Governor-General of Australia. Tho Right, Hon. R. 0. Munro-Fergu-son, who is 53 years of age, has repre- ■ sehted Leith Burglis m the Liberal interest since 1886. Prior to that he represented Ro3B and Cromarty. In 1889 ho married Lady Helen Hermioiie Blackwood, daughter of the first Marquis of Dufferin. In 1894-5 the new Governor-General was Lord of the Treasury.
