BRISBANE DOCTOR'S STATEMENT. BRISBANE, Jan. 28. The Acting-Premier (Mr Humes) stated to-day that a local medical man, a resident hero for about 20 years, called on him, and said that he had found what he believed Avas an absolute cure for consumption ; and asked for some assistance, m order to prove its eflieacy. Mi - Barnes asked him to put tho matter m writing, so that it miglit be considered by tho Cabinet, assuring him that- no proposal would be lightly treated when it hat! for its object the more effectual treatment of such a disease as stated. Some assistance will be necessary for tho tests .at hospitals.
